School Prom Hire

2008 has been incredibly busy!! We have enjoyed an unprecedented increase in our wedding hire services and our made-to-measure suit services. Now we are in the middle of our School Prom season and once again we are amazingly busy! We have booked every single prom suit we have for the next two week period! We now have NO prom suits available to hire until the 10th July!

We will be booking prom suits for the 10th July and on but I am afraid there will be none available until that date.

I hope all the students who have booked to hire prom suits from us have a fantastic night and enjoy every second of it!

If any Students or Groups of students wish to see their pictures appear on my blog email me your Prom Pics and I will post you and your friends on my blog. marc@jackbunneys.co.uk

Accessories (where to buy) part-one wallets

Where does one buy the perfect accessory. The perfect wallet, briefcase, umbrella or travel bag? The awnser (as is the case for most things) is right here in London. I can give my full recommendation to Aspinal of London. Perfect service and quality.

Male Grooming.

Male grooming is not a new thing. Gentlemen have always preferred to look after themselves, to present themselves in the possible light. However it seems that some of the (traditionally women's) larger cosmetics companies are now targeting (fairly aggressively) you and I, as their new prospective client. I can understand where they are coming from, as I see male grooming as an essential part of the process of creating our own style.

But I do not need the assistance of a giant cosmetic conglomerate to tell me how to be a well groomed gentleman as I know where the true expertise lay in this field and that is firmly in the hands of the experts. The people who have been grooming the Gentlemen of London for generations and they are the traditional barbers of London. If you require advice on shaving, moisturising, aftershave, wrinkles, grey hair or any other grooming dilemma that may occur ask your Barber! they will know.

Summer Style Guide 2008

Style should be a personal choice. We create our own style throughout our lives and hopefully our style choices are as unique as ourselves. Having said that, there is a necessity to change, tastes change and we change. Therefore we must be aware of fashion and continue to make the correct style choices each season to continue to maintain our own unique images.

So whats hot Summer '08:

This season we are seeing a more European look, with linen and brown being used on the high street. Tailoring is still very formal, with a well-fitted suit being the first item on any ones summer shopping list. Bespoke or made-to-measure is the only way to buy a suit this summer. However jackets are casual, cotton and linen being worn with jeans and the surprise hit of the spring/summer the Deck Shoe! (who would have thought it!)

Suits:

Suits continue to be formal and fitted. A one-button single breasted and 2-button double breasted are both hot. Grey and silver mohair fabrics, mixed with super 110's, or super 120's wool for a light and soft finish. Slim fitting trousers higher waisted to be worn with a waistcoat to create 3.piece suits are hot this summer too!

Jackets:

Linen is back! beige, fawn, brown, blue, cream and white linen jackets are a must!to be worn with jeans or slacks. Fitted and buggy-lined (half-lined).

Trousers:

The five pocket hipster trouser is still in charge here, but with softer natural fabrics.

Shirts:

Slim, fitted and single cuff. Natural fabrics Swiss cotton and linens.

Controversial Accessories (part two) Men’s Hats

Controversial Accessories (part two) Men’s Hats

“Get ahead, get a hat”
I believe in headwear in all of its forms. I believe a Gentleman’s head should be well hidden whilst in the outdoors. But it seems I am in a minority, it seems men no longer wear headwear for business, travel or even sports.

I know there has been a trend towards a western style of headwear (brokeback style) as well as an indie pork-pie renaissance (although that may have something to do with Pete Doherty’s inability to muster the energy to wash his hair) but generally as a rule of thumb you rarely see a gentleman sporting his Trilby or bowler.

I am sad to say this is just another symptom of the decay in our society, men no longer wear the correct headwear, they no longer give up their seat on public transport to a lady and this can only lead to the gentlemen of Great Britain walking the streets baring their bodies as though they have no clean clothing available. (This is already being seen in some London Boroughs when the sun peeps from its hiding place)

I am sure that you would agree that the world would be a better place if men had the ability to wear clothing, even in the summer time.

The only sure way to prevent society following this slippery and uncivilized path is for all men to return to wearing the correct headwear for the correct occasion.
Weather you choose a Fedora, Trilby, Homburg, Pork Pie or Bowler a hat should be worn for any occasion. Civilized head wear is the first step to civilisation itself.
