Good morning all!
It has been quite some time since I have wrote an actual blog post! But here goes, let's see if I can still do it.
2015 has been a very special year for us here at JB. Once again our tiny little business has taken a step forward, it has been busier than ever and our influence spreads throughout the industry.
Once upon a time, I would use this blog as a sounding board for new ideas. I would sit here and try to organise my thoughts onto a screen. This process of organisation would help mould our ideas into something useful.
But, now something different has happened.
Our influence has become such that if I write down in this blog (or on social media) that I think a certain style will be popular in 2016, for mens wedding suits, it not only probably will, it will almost certainly be emulated by other businesses, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, after all.
It with this in mind that I have spent most of the year in a blog and social media black hole. Posting infrequently and only sharing the vaguest of ideas (even these are being emulated as soon as I post them). However it is nearly time to share our new 2016 images! So all will shortly be revealed anyway, so I may as well continue with my annual tradition of predicting 'wedding suit trends' for 2016.
Last year I predicted:1. Tweeds, 2. Lot's of blue, 3. slim fit, 4. Unique groom suits, 5. collar bars, 6. coloured shirts, 7. the return of the wedding waistcoat. Heres the post: Click
I am reasonably sure I got the vast majority right! I can assure you that 2015 was certainly the year for a blue wedding suit! It was also the year for slim fitting suits to reach the very pinnacle of its fashion arc. I was 100% correct on the return of the wedding waistcoat however not so much on coloured shirts, ivory and white still being preferred for weddings.
I'm happy with 6 out of 7 though.
What about 2016?
